To uninstall World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King:
- Click the "Start" button.
- Select "Programs" and then "World of Warcraft".
- Click the "World of Warcraft - Uninstall" icon.
- The uninstall process will begin.

- Place the Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King installation DVD into your DVD-ROM drive.
- If your computer is not AutoPlay-capable, if you are using Windows XP/2000, open the "My Computer" icon found on your desktop or in the menu reached by clicking your "Start" button. If you are using Windows Vista, go to the Start Menu and select "Computer". Then open the drive letter that corresponds to your DVD-ROM drive, and double-click the icon.
- Once the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King splash screen has come up, please select the "Uninstall" button.
After uninstalling the game, delete the "World of Warcraft" folder from your hard drive manually and empty your Recycle Bin.
Please keep in mind that you will lose any screenshots you have taken if you do not back them up from the Screenshots folder in the World of Warcraft directory. You do not have to worry about losing characters or account information this way. Your characters and all their information are stored on the World of Warcraft game servers.
However, if you are planning on reformatting your hard drive, you should make sure to save your account name, password, and authentication key in a safe place.
